SMD stands for Surface Mounted Device. An electrical component that is usually mounted on the surface of a circuit board. Advanced technology made these components smaller and are now making SMD LED's. These LED's are extremely bright and allow for more light in a compact bulb. Replace an old conventional bulb with these super bright extended life low energy bulbs. Fits 1156 type bulb for signals.
