Weld-On Frame Hardtail with Plate
Hardtail should be aligned for chain clearance prior to final welding. This hardtail fits hardtail rigid frames. The distance between the inside to inside of the axle plates is 9-5/16 inch. DIY hardtailing is easy to install as the alignment is accomplished in the mount design provided. Welding should be performed by a skilled welding technician. Custom application on 1973-1978 XL. *Note: UPS may consider this part as packaged inchoversize inch for shipment as compared to the actual weight which will result in higher shipping costs.
Tech Notes: The width of the tail section should be exactly 9-1/8inch. Due to the welding process this may vary slightly & builder will need to modify accordingly. Suggested to use with #40-0997 Center Post Mount Wrap Around Oil Tank Raw.
